Reposing Hanuman

In this reclining version of the “splits” one feels a sense of repose. The upright, highly energetic version, with the upper body vertical and arms raised high overhead, was given the name Hanuman, after the Hindu monkey deity, as an acknowledgement of his capacity to ride the wind and leap great distances in his efforts to help to god Rama and his wife Sita.
